Magicians, Singers, Dancers, Clowns perform for the suffering children who are unfortunately having to battle disease so early in their lives. SMILE intends visiting one hospital every week.

The objective? Simple. “Bring moments of Smiles into lives of these children.” Because the trust believes that facing disease with a smile is half the battle won. During the programme, free toys that are collected from various people all across the city, or bought using donations, are distributed amongst these children.

A toy bank has been created where from the children can borrow toys. Specially made cartoons and cutouts by eminent cartoonist Late Chandi Lahiri and his daughter Trina Lahiri have been fixed on the walls and will enliven the atmosphere of the children wards.

Rupam Islam, the youth icon and many other eminent persons run this project. “It is not a one day in a year effort but we will run it throughout the year” – Rupam said.

SMILE was inaugurated by the Honb’le Mayor Shri Sovan Chatterjee.
